Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team is an international non-profit dedicated to improving lives through accurate and accessible geographic data. We are a global community of volunteers, humanitarian organizations, and technology enthusiasts who believe in the power of open data to drive positive change. We work together to provide map data that revolutionizes disaster management, reduces risks, and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mission
HOT’s mission is to improve well-being, reduce suffering, and increase resilience for people who are systematically underrepresented in countries at a high risk of disaster, humanitarian emergency and multidimensional poverty, through open map data.

Our People
Our community is made up of volunteers from around the world, including cartographers, data analysts, software developers, humanitarian workers, local community leaders, partners, and tech enthusiasts who share a common goal: to make a difference through open maps, and ensure that missing maps are no longer a cause for human suffering. Our people are the driving force behind our success, and their unwavering dedication ensures that we continuously deliver impactful, high-quality maps that aid humanitarian efforts and support communities in need.
