Pierre brings in his experience from the government sector. He lead various Activations including for Ebola and Nepal, interfacing with the UN agencies, the various international organizations, partners and the OSM community that collaborate inn various ways. Volunteering in the various Working groups, he also assure to constantly improve our tools, learning material and workflows to respond quickly to disasters while assuring quality of mapping. He also support various local OSM communities through various activities.

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada department, Ottawa
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada department (DFAIT) Open Policy Day Session, Feb. 9 in Ottawa, was attended by 200 staff members. Personal in embassies could follow the morning session by teleconference.
The objective was to expose the DFAIT staff to new ways of working for policy making and information exchanges inside the department (ie. Web 2.0, Social network, Open Data, Open Innovation, NGO's and how to adapt with collaborative efforts, etc). There were formal presentations in the morning from USA Secretary of State staff and DFAIT staff, Google, Wikimedia Foundation and World Bank representatives.

Reactivation of HOT for the Ebola epidemic, Second update
Après la deuxième vague de l'épidémie d'Ebola en juin marquée par une hausse du nombre de décès, les équipes de la Croix-Rouge et MSF se sont déployés dans les districts de Kailahun et Kenema en Sierra Leone et demandé la réactivation de la communauté OpenStreetMap pour produire des cartes détaillées. L'équipe humanitaire d'OpenStreetMap (HOT) fait le pont avec les humanitaires et les différents partenaires. Un spécialiste SIG de CartONG a été déployé sur le terrain de nouveau pour soutenir MSF. Nous coordonnons avec CartONG et les spécialistes SIG de la Croix-Rouge américaine. Nous sommes également en liaison avec des représentants de l'Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS) et le Bureau des Nations Unies pour la Coordinaion des affaires humanitaires (OCHA) et divers partenaires pour assurer une identification rapide des zones à couvrir et informer les diverses organisations humanitaires sur les services disponibles.
