Chomba Chishala

Senior Mapping Supervisor - Eastern and Southern Africa Hub / Eastern & Southern Africa / Zambia

Chomba Chishala is a Project Associate at HOT, specializing in the implementation and coordination of geospatial and community-centered initiatives, with a strong focus on the ESA Hub portfolio. He is committed to delivering projects that drive measurable and sustainable impact at the community level. He has successfully led the Open Mapping Grant Program across five countries—Kenya, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Rwanda—strengthening local capacity and advancing open mapping practices. Chomba has also served as Project Lead for the Climate Ready Cities initiative in Kinshasa, DRC, and contributed to the Terra Firma program through the Local Impact Project in Zambia. In addition, he leads a drone mapping initiative in Lusaka and supports UNICEF Mozambique on a project aimed at strengthening youth-led citizen science for climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and environmental protection.
